VERY carefully clean up any loose adhesive with a fingernail, toothpick, knife, razor blade, etc. Press down on the trim and wipe the crack again. Use a finger to wipe along the crack, pressing some of the surplus adhesive into the crack. Do this in several places along the loose trim. Squirt some silicone into the crack until some comes out on both sides of the adhesive tube. The tape protects the paint from damage by the tip of the tube. Press the silicone adhesive tube tip to the crack. Use painter's tape to tape off carefully the trim and paint above and below the joints where trim meets body. Then, a car guy with much more experience than myself commented that he routinely applied dabs of silicone adhesive as part of trim installation. They probably just need some adjustment and removal/reinstallation/adjustment seemed like a lot of trouble, not to mention the risk to the car's finish. Considering how this car was kept since then, it was reasonable to assume the clips should be OK. Recently, from receipts, I confirmed that a PO had replaced the trim clips when the car was disassembled and painted 15 years ago.
